Dear Hogwarts Student, Welcome to Hogwarts and thank you for your interest in such a prestige school. We never underestimate your ability to become one of the greatest of all in your magical studies but we do limit the power of becoming over powerful. Let me tell you a little history about Hogwarts. Years ago we had a man by the name of Tom Riddle, an orphan who was one of the greatest of all. Power can overcome the life of many and it did his. He ended up being one of the most powerful and destructive wizards alive. We want to minimize that and we will limit your power. Remember to keep up with your studies, but ignore the impulses in your brain to become more than you are. It will destruct you and overcome you. Now that you have that in mind take a look at your opportunities in Hogwarts.
Sincerely,
Your Headmistress[/i][/color]

[glow=red,2,300] Classes[/glow]
Classes are to be sent to you ASAP you need to attend them as much as you can. It will please your teachers If you are absent and you told us you were going to be the teacher will let you make up your work and come into the lesson, or we may just forget about you being absent and not put 0 or any credit for that work (so say you where absent for a huge project we will just act as though you just enrolled into the class and didn't have to do it. your name would be marked : Fleur: --- by it, if you where absent and you are not asked to do that project.)) If you are not absent and you still do not attend lessons after 5 lessons (about a month) you will be pulled out of the class. In which you can re register when a new term occurs. The classes we offer are:

schedule of classes by year First Year: classes: Astronomy Charms Defense Against the Dark Arts Herbology History of Magic Potions Transfiguration June: finals (exams)
Second Year Same classes as first year. During the Easter holidays, students choose two or more additional classes for year 3. partial list: Ancient Runes Arithmancy Care of Magical Creatures Divination Muggle Studies June: finals (exams)
Third Year
Same classes as second year, add two new subjects. Students may drop an elective class if they wish but they are required to continue with the core classes begun in first year. June: finals (exams)
Fourth Year
Same classes as third year, begin preparing for O.W.L.s. Students may drop an elective class if they wish but they are required to continue with the core classes begun in first year. June: finals (exams)
Fifth Year
Same classes as fourth year. Students may drop an elective class if they wish but they are required to continue with the core classes begin in first year. June: Ordinary Wizarding Levels (O.W.L.s)
Sixth Year:
Students don't know what their classes for sixth year will be until after they receive the results of their O.W.L.s. Once they have their O.W.L. results, the students know whether they have achieved the required grades to get into the classes they're interested in for sixth year. On the first day of term, each student meets with his or her Head of House to determine which classes he or she can take. If the student did not pass an O.W.L., he or she discusses options with the Head of House.
If a student achieved the required O.W.L. in a particular subject (which varies from teacher to teacher), he or she may continue in that subject, but is not required to do so. For example, several (well, all, as far as we know) of Harry's year opted to drop out of Care of Magical Creatures, much to Hagrid's dismay.
June: finals (exams)
Seventh Year: We won't know what the classes are for seventh year until the book comes out, although it is likely that seventh years concentrate on taking classes in their chosen fields.
June: Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests (N.E.W.T.s)

[glow=red,2,300] About the O.W.L.S and N.E.W.T[/glow]
The OWLS and NEWTS are just like AP classes at a highschool. You take them after a certain year and you get a pass fail type grade. You take them on every subject. This site will hold them a little longer than they would be in Hogwarts only because everyone has a life and may not be able to get on here a certain time. If you miss your O.W.L.S or N.e.w.t we will let you make them up. If you miss them by a really long shot (like we are in the middle of second term and you were supposed to take them first term) just retake the class.
[glow=red,2,300]Other Options:[/glow]
Okay, so like college we offer a test for those who want to get out of their class. For instance.. you don't want to take potions, well study and you can test out. There are requirements though. Depending on the class you would like to test out of. We also have a requirement based off of your post count.
It wouldn't be fair if a new student just came up and took a test to get out of their class when they have only 5 posts. The minimum post count is 100. I am not going to make a max post count because it depends. If you wanted to get out of Transfiguration you'd have to take an oral and writen test. So think about these things before you decide to do them.
Also PM me if you decide to do it. I can give you more informationa nd lead you down the path so you can pass. We will have study boards for students wanting to get out of a class, that too of course will cost some galleons though. (You earn galleons based off of your post count too.)
We may have occasional free sessions that students might want to hold or generous staff. The school might just hold one for free as a reward for a certain house.
The idea of testing out of your classes is original of Professorpeace.proboards.com. If you would like to use this idea please let the admin know of your intentions and leave CREDIT.
-Thank you

[glow=red,2,300]Teacher's [/glow]
Teachers are to fulfill a lot of duties, There markings are just like the HP books, T-troll,P-Poor, and pass A-acceptable, and E-Excellent, those are the only markings we use.
As a teacher you cannot BABY a student if that is caught you will have to hand your license as a teacher back . You must teach as much as you can, your students are a great Priority, and it would be great to have them focused on. Please make kids leave if they do not attend any lessons, if kid's have any questions on this have them bring it up with me. Please make a list of who attends and who is in the class, make a list in the class of whose grade is what, and also add up there grade points 0 being troll and 20 being acceptable. after adding up there grades fill out the form in the Trophy room, and put it in the deduct points thread or the earn points Thread. Teachers have to make a lesson plan that is easy to understand, if some kid's do not understand them, I will Pm you so you know, but try to make them most understanding, you must have a lesson plan for 1st-7th years. It can be simple, or it can be hard. Just make sure you stay on top of them, Lessons can add up to about 15 or as low as 5.. it doesn't matter

You have to ensure a save time to keeping the school safe at the same time ensuring no one finds out about your secret hide out or club...

[glow=red,2,300]Death Eaters [/glow] This role Might be pretty fun, roaming the school no one knowing about you, your kind of creating our plot farther, you show up unannounced and stuff, but showing up to much can get really annoying, so don't do that, you will have secret missions and meetings ON our campus, no one can really spot you. We will have battles with you all in the DADA club or class. You will be the BAD people and the riser will be Voldemort still. A few things would change upon this though, when we are ready to take force and action you must do so, But to enhance it is "safe" here I must note: NO ONE CAN DIE! IF anyone is left to die they are going to get in trouble. and will be brought back to life, unless someone likes to leave the forum then we will pretend there death, now it will also help with the newspaper writers!

This Job is fun. you take control of either writing gossip, or about quidditch reviews, all the writers must make it very interesting, this job still needs a head reporter, I am accepting, if you enroll in this job you will be subjected to have LOT of fun. This job may be tiring come up with details but you get to use your imagination to wards it.
